Lilacs In Bloom...

I hope everyone has had a good week and is looking forward to the weekend! I just wanted to stop in and share our lilacs, which are about a month behind when they typically bloom here in the Pacific Northwest.

Good things come to those who wait. (We really had no choice but to wait, did we?) Ironically, this sentiment could be applied to other areas in our life right now too... I've heard it said, "God is never late, but He's rarely early." His timing is perfect, we remind ourselves.

I'm rarely early either, but I can't claim I'm never late. And after this year, neither can our lilacs... ;)

The sight and scent of lilacs remind me of spring, but also that summer is on its way...

The days are getting longer, and our boys bedtimes are naturally drifting later as the sun lingers. This time of year it often feels like they try to fit an entire Saturday worth of activity in after school and sports get out. When we tell them it's time for bed, they can hardly contain their shock! Bed?!? Already?!?

Summer will be here soon...

Bring it.

(But the lilacs can stay.)

Xo
